My name is Kyla White and I am the creator and owner of Noir Candles. I was raised on the west side of Detroit, MI and am very proud of it. I attended the University of Michigan-Flint for two years where I joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Three years later, I created Noir Candles. I started Noir because I decided to invest in myself the way I had been doing for other people and their businesses. I felt that I wasn't represented in the company and that didn't sit right with me. It was becoming harder and harder to see myself working for someone else and building their dream while I hadn't realized my own. I was a college dropout, I had no clue who I was or what I wanted to do. With some soul-searching and prayer and an immense amount of faith in God, Noir was born. I want Noir to feel familiar for my people. I want it to make you think of your family and friends and those cousins you didn't know weren't your "real" cousins but no one can tell you differently. I believe in kinship. Which is why I refer to customers as "cousin" We'll always strive to strike up memories of growing up black. We'll always relate to you and your struggles.
Noir is BLACK and will always be For The Culture.
